Hacienda El Patrón is an eco-tourism complex located just 30 minutes from Havana, within a natural reserve. The project integrates architecture, landscape, and sustainability in a proposal that seeks direct connection with the environment.

The design of the complex is organized into different accommodation typologies — bungalows, glamping areas, and communal spaces — all strategically located to minimize environmental impact and strengthen the relationship with the river and tropical vegetation.

The architecture is defined by the honest use of natural and local materials: exposed concrete walls that ensure durability and freshness; wooden joinery; roofs made of vegetable fibers and exposed wooden trusses reinterpreting traditional techniques; and interior finishes in stone and lime mortars, reinforcing the timeless and austere character of the ensemble.

Interiors are designed as open spaces, with large glazed surfaces framing nature and allowing for constant cross-ventilation. Bathrooms integrate carved stone pieces and open showers leading to landscaped patios, blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Bedrooms feature solid wood furniture and natural fiber textiles, creating a warm, essential atmosphere in dialogue with the landscape.

Beyond its aesthetic dimension, the proposal incorporates energy self-sufficiency systems and water management, reinforcing a model of sustainable and environmentally respectful tourism.
